If you missed August’s talk, you are invited to join the Côte Saint-Luc Women’s Social Club at the ACC and hear CSL librarian, Melissa, talk about Bone and Bread by Saleema Nawaz. It will be held on Wednesday, September 9th at 1:45pm. This book was selected as the CSL Reads title of last year and the author came to visit in October.
A tale of two sisters who grew up in Montreal above a bagel shop, their paths separate from one another when they become orphans and are taken in by their uncle. Where one starts gaining weight from an unplanned pregnancy, the other loses pounds from anorexia. Their relationship is difficult to understand and when the latter sibling dies unexpectedly, the older one is left to find any trace of love or forgiveness from her sister.
