This event has been CANCELLED.
If you missed November’s talk, you are invited to join the Côte Saint-Luc Women’s Social Club at the ACC and hear CSL librarian, Melissa, talk about Frog Music by Emma Donoghue. It will be held on Wednesday, January 13th at 1:45pm. There is no talk in December.
This novel is by the same author who brought us Room. Burlesque dancer Blanche Beunon tries to discover who murdered her friend Jenny, who was shot through a window in a railroad saloon in 1876 San Francisco, amidst a record-breaking heatwave and smallpox epidemic. Based on true events, this story explores the issues of women’s rights and freedoms, their status and sexual urges. There are no two better characters to prove society wrong than Blanche and Jenny.
You are encouraged to share your thoughts with others and to ask any questions you may have about the book—except for the ending!
If you have any questions about November’s title, Love Saves the Day, Melissa will be happy to answer them.
The library has 5 copies of the current book to be discussed. Grab one off the shelf!
Coffee, tea and goodies will be provided after the talk, for some friendly socializing. Feel free to bring a friend.
Cost at the door for CSL Women’s Club Members: $3
Cost for Non-members: $4
