If you missed September’s talk, you are invited to join the Côte Saint-Luc Women’s Social Club at the ACC and hear CSL librarian, Melissa, talk about The Good Luck of Right Now by Matthew Quick. It will be held on Wednesday, October 14th at 1:45pm. This novel is by the same author who brought us The Silver Linings Playbook, which was made into a popular movie.
Bartholomew Neil is 39 and has just lost his mother to cancer. That in itself is sad but what is really quite troublesome is how he is a recluse—he never had any job or friends, besides the Irish priest from his congregation (Father McNamee). Things take a turn when, after the funeral, Bartholomew finds a signed letter by Richard Gere in his mom’s underwear drawer.
You are encouraged to share your thoughts with others and to ask any questions you may have about the book—except for the ending!
If you have any questions about September’s title, Bone and Bread, Melissa will be happy to answer them.
The library has 3 copies circulating of the current book to be discussed. Take one out today!
Coffee, tea and goodies will be provided after the talk, for some friendly socializing. Feel free to bring a friend.
Cost at the door for CSL Women’s Club Members: $3
Cost for Non-members: $4
