Story of Seeds posterWe will be showing Open Sesame – The Story of Seeds on Tuesday, September 1 at 2 pm in the Harold Greenspon Auditorium.

The film screening will be followed by a discussion with Devlin Kuyek, researcher and author of Good Crop / Bad Crop – Seed Politics and the Future of Food in Canada. Discover the story of seeds by following the challenges and triumphs of some of their most tireless stewards and advocates and learn more about the Canadian food system.

Seedy-Sunday_500pxDon’t miss Seedy Sunday, the first ever Côte Saint-Luc Seed Exchange! This event is free and open to the public.

Sunday April 19 from noon to 3 pm at the Eco-Café

Get more from your seeds and exchange them for new varieties of your favorite vegetables! Mingle with other gardeners from your community and be sure to attend a unique seed-saving presentation by Aaron Lyons from Hawthorn Farm. Mr. Lyons will explain basic seed-saving techniques and principles and will advise us on how to maintain our own seed collection at the Eleanor London Seed Library.

What a great way to start the gardening season! Don’t forget to bring your personal seeds for the exchange…
